Dream Pull Away Late to Complete First-Round Sweep
Atlanta opened quickly, survived Washingtonโs second-half push and then closed with authority. Allisha Gray led the Dream with 22 points, while Jordin Canada delivered 19 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds. Canada scored 13 of her points in the fourth quarter.
Rhyne Howard and Angel Reese each added 15 points. Naz Hillmon scored 10 as Atlanta earned its first trip to the WNBA semifinals since 2018.
Sonia Citron led all scorers with 25 points for Washington. Kiki Iriafen recorded 15 points and 16 rebounds, becoming the first player in Mystics history to produce a first-half double-double in a playoff game. Washington also outrebounded Atlanta 47-32.
However, Atlantaโs ball pressure and perimeter shooting decided the game. The Dream forced 19 turnovers while committing only eight. Atlanta also made 13 of 32 3-pointers, compared with Washingtonโs 7-of-22 effort, and finished with a 23-13 advantage in assists.
Turning Point
Washington erased most of a 13-point first-half deficit with a 14-2 run that stretched across the third and fourth quarters. The surge pulled the Mystics within 65-62 and brought the home crowd back into the game.
Atlanta answered immediately. The Dream scored the next 13 points, and Canada capped the run with a 3-pointer. After Washington again tried to respond, Canada made consecutive 3-pointers and a jumper to build an 89-70 lead with 2:58 remaining.

19 points, 11 assists, seven rebounds. Canada organized Atlantaโs offense and personally ended Washingtonโs comeback attempt with 13 fourth-quarter points.
The Dream swept the series 2-0 and will host New York in Game 1 of the semifinals on Sunday. Washingtonโs season ended after its first playoff appearance since the franchiseโs 2019 championship run.

Ogunbowaleโs Record 45 Forces Game 3
With Dallas facing elimination, Arike Ogunbowale authored the highest-scoring playoff performance in WNBA history. She finished with 45 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals, shooting 12-of-23 from the field, 5-of-8 from 3-point range and 16-of-18 at the free-throw line.
Ogunbowale scored 22 points across the fourth quarter and overtime. Alysha Clark provided a vital 21 points off the bench on 6-of-7 shooting, while Aziaha James added 13. Paige Bueckers had a difficult shooting night, scoring 10 points on 3-of-13 from the field, but she contributed four assists and helped create two of Ogunbowaleโs overtime 3-pointers.
Gabby Williams produced a career-high 36 points for Golden State, adding seven assists, six rebounds and four steals. Kaila Charles scored 14, Kayla Thornton had 13, and Veronica Burton and Janelle Salaรผn each added 11.
Dallas shot 50% from the field and 52.2% from 3-point range. The Wings also made 32 free throws and won the rebounding battle 44-35. Golden State shot 46.6% overall and made 12 3-pointers, but the Valkyries went just 2-of-12 in overtime.
Turning Point
Golden State led 93-90 in the closing seconds of regulation. Ogunbowale then hit an off-balance corner 3-pointer with 4.1 seconds remaining to tie the game and force overtime.
She stayed aggressive in the extra period. Ogunbowale banked in a 30-footer on Dallasโ first overtime possession, then buried another 3-pointer with 1:46 left to break a 100-100 tie. The second shot gave Dallas the lead for good as the Wings closed overtime on a 10-0 run.

The other semifinal pairing remains unsettled. Indiana and Las Vegas will play their deciding Game 3 on Thursday. Dallas and Golden State will settle their series Friday. The winners of those two games will meet in the semifinals.
Wednesdayโs results therefore produced both certainty and suspense: Atlanta moved on, Washington went home, and Ogunbowale ensured that Dallas and Golden State must play one more game.
