The MLB playoff scores from October 6, 2026, shifted both National League Division Series. First, the Dodgers used a three-run fourth inning to regain control against Atlanta. Later, the Padres protected a narrow lead and avoided a sweep by Milwaukee.

Los Angeles Dodgers 3, Atlanta Braves 1

Yoshinobu Yamamoto struck out 10 over seven strong innings as Los Angeles defeated Atlanta and took a 2-1 lead in the National League Division Series.

Chris Sale opened with dominant stuff and struck out six batters through two innings. However, the Dodgers finally broke through in the fourth. Kiké Hernández launched a two-run homer, and Freddie Freeman followed with a solo shot for a 3-0 advantage.

Atlanta answered in the fifth when Drake Baldwin drove home a run with a groundout. Nevertheless, Yamamoto kept the Braves from mounting a larger rally. He became the third Japanese-born pitcher to record at least 10 strikeouts in a postseason start.

Finally, Edwin Díaz handled the ninth inning and combined with Mookie Betts on the game’s last out. As a result, the Dodgers moved within one victory of returning to the National League Championship Series. MLB game story

San Diego Padres 4, Milwaukee Brewers 3

Jake Cronenworth hit a go-ahead homer, and Michael King earned the save as San Diego stayed alive in the National League Division Series.

The Padres scored twice in the third. Fernando Tatis Jr. produced an RBI groundout before Manny Machado added a run-scoring single. Milwaukee responded when William Contreras homered in the fourth and Jackson Chourio tied the game with a sacrifice fly in the fifth.

However, Cronenworth immediately restored San Diego’s lead with a solo homer in the bottom of the fifth. Xander Bogaerts then scored on a throwing error in the sixth, giving the Padres a 4-2 cushion.

Christian Yelich brought Milwaukee within one in the seventh. Still, King induced a game-ending double play in the ninth. Consequently, San Diego cut Milwaukee’s series lead to 2-1 and forced Game 4. King also became the first pitcher in Padres history to start one game and earn a save in another during the same postseason series. MLB game story
