The NFL’s opening weekend continues Sunday with 13 games before the Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs close Week 1 on Monday Night Football.

The first full Sunday of the 2026 NFL season arrives with divisional rivalries, several new-look offenses and injuries that have already shifted the betting market.

Atlanta faces the most significant problem after losing quarterbacks Tua Tagovailoa and Michael Penix Jr. for its opener in Pittsburgh. Elsewhere, Patrick Mahomes is expected to return for Kansas City, Malik Nabers is questionable for the New York Giants and Philadelphia will open the season without edge rusher Jonathan Greenard.

Chicago enters the season as a modest road favorite, but its offensive health deserves attention. Wide receiver Rome Odunze is questionable with a calf injury, while offensive tackle Ozzy Trapilo and safety Xavier Woods are also questionable. Odunze participated on a limited basis and expressed confidence that he would play.

Carolina linebacker Patrick Jones II has been ruled out with a back injury, but running back Jonathon Brooks is expected to be available.

The difference between the BetUS spread and the broader consensus market could be meaningful. Chicago backers would naturally prefer laying two points instead of three, while the lower BetUS total reflects additional caution regarding the two offenses.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Cincinnati Bengals

This matchup carries the largest total of Sunday’s slate, suggesting oddsmakers expect both offenses to produce immediately.

Tampa Bay’s depth could be tested. Wide receiver Jalen McMillan, running back Sean Tucker and offensive tackle Justin Skule are doubtful. Linebacker Christian Rozeboom is questionable. Cincinnati defensive end Shemar Stewart is doubtful with a knee injury, but Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins do not carry game-status designations.

The key question is whether Tampa Bay can protect its quarterback and create enough explosive plays to keep pace in Cincinnati. The half-point attached to the Bengals’ spread is important: Buccaneers bettors receive more protection at +3.5, while Cincinnati must win by at least four to cover.

New Orleans Saints at Detroit Lions

Detroit is one of Sunday’s strongest favorites and enters the opener with an otherwise healthy active roster. Cornerback Christian Izien is the Lions’ only questionable player.

New Orleans has more substantial concerns. Defensive end Cameron Jordan, tight end Oscar Delp and running back Audric Estimé are out. Alvin Kamara is questionable with a knee injury, although his full participation Friday gives the Saints reason for optimism.

Kamara’s availability could determine whether New Orleans can control possession and keep Detroit’s offense off the field. If he is unavailable or limited, the Saints may struggle to maintain balance against a Lions team expected to play aggressively at home.

Buffalo Bills at Houston Texans

Kickoff: Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS

Buffalo and Houston meet in one of the weekend’s most evenly priced games. The Bills are slight road favorites, but the market gives Houston a legitimate opportunity to win outright.

Buffalo lists running back Ty Johnson, defensive back Jordan Hancock and defensive lineman T.J. Sanders as questionable. Houston has no official game-status designations.

The matchup may be decided by protection and third-down execution. Buffalo must keep Josh Allen from being forced into hurried decisions, while Houston needs to prevent Allen’s scrambling ability from turning broken plays into drive-extending gains.

With a spread below a field goal, this is essentially a market prediction of a one-score contest.

Baltimore Ravens at Indianapolis Colts

Kickoff: Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS
Consensus line: Ravens -3.5
Total: 47.5

Baltimore opens as a road favorite behind Lamar Jackson, but the Ravens will be missing two defensive contributors. Linebacker Teddye Buchanan and defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike are out, while wide receiver Devontez Walker is questionable.

Indianapolis linebacker Austin Ajiake is questionable with a hamstring injury. Quarterback Anthony Richardson and defensive tackle Grover Stewart practiced fully and have no game-status designations.

The Colts’ best route to an upset is sustaining drives and keeping Jackson on the sideline. Baltimore, meanwhile, will attempt to make Indianapolis defend the entire width of the field through Jackson’s combination of designed runs, improvisation and downfield passing.

Cleveland Browns at Jacksonville Jaguars

Kickoff: Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS
Consensus line: Jaguars -8.5
Total: 40.5

Jacksonville is the largest favorite among Sunday’s early games, but the relatively low total suggests the market is not expecting an offensive shootout.

Cleveland guard Teven Jenkins is out with a back injury, and center Parker Brailsford is questionable with a thumb injury. Those issues could become particularly damaging if the Browns fall behind and must operate in obvious passing situations. Jacksonville running back LeQuint Allen is questionable with a hip injury.

Cleveland’s defense will need to create short fields or turnovers to keep this competitive. Jacksonville should have the advantage if it can avoid giveaways and force the Browns into long third downs.

Atlanta Falcons at Pittsburgh Steelers

Kickoff: Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, FOX
Consensus line: Steelers -4.5
Total: 41.5

No injury has affected Sunday’s betting board more than Atlanta’s quarterback situation.

Tua Tagovailoa is out after suffering an oblique injury during Thursday’s practice. Michael Penix Jr. is also unavailable as he continues recovering from a knee injury, leaving Cooper Rush in line to start. Atlanta will additionally be without offensive tackle Cameron Williams and cornerback Billy Bowman Jr.

The Steelers list cornerback Joey Porter Jr. as questionable with a back injury.

Pittsburgh should attempt to pressure Rush early and make Atlanta operate through a shortened passing game. The Falcons’ defense and running attack will have to keep the score close while their replacement quarterback settles into the game.

New York Jets at Tennessee Titans

Kickoff: Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS
Consensus line: Titans -1.5
Total: 38.5

This game owns Sunday’s lowest total, reflecting uncertainty surrounding both offenses and the possibility of a defensive struggle.

The Jets will be without wide receiver Tim Patrick and defensive lineman Joseph Ossai. Running back Kene Nwangwu and cornerback D’Angelo Ponds are doubtful. Tennessee linebacker Cedric Gray is out with a concussion.

With so little separating the teams, turnovers and field position could be decisive. The Jets will look to establish Breece Hall and create manageable situations for Geno Smith. Tennessee must protect Cam Ward and prevent the Jets’ rebuilt secondary from dictating the game.

Arizona Cardinals at Los Angeles Chargers

Kickoff: Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET, CBS
Consensus line: Chargers -9.5
Total: 47.5

Los Angeles is Sunday’s largest overall favorite, with the market expecting the Chargers to control the game at SoFi Stadium.

Arizona will be without offensive lineman Isaiah Adams, cornerback Garrett Williams and safety Dadrion Taylor-Demerson. Rookie running back Jeremiyah Love is questionable with an ankle injury. Chargers cornerback Deane Leonard is out, while linebacker Tuli Tuipulotu is questionable.

Arizona’s depleted secondary faces a difficult assignment against Justin Herbert. The Cardinals need sustained offensive possessions and an effective rushing game to prevent Herbert from receiving too many opportunities against their undermanned defense.

Miami Dolphins at Las Vegas Raiders

Kickoff: Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET, FOX
Consensus line: Raiders -3
Total: 39.5

Miami carries no official injury designations into Las Vegas, but the Raiders will be without star tight end Brock Bowers because of a knee injury.

Bowers’ absence removes a major middle-of-the-field target and could make the Raiders more dependent on their outside receivers. Miami should expect Las Vegas to emphasize protection, short completions and the running game.

The total below 40 indicates limited faith in both offenses. Miami’s speed provides an avenue to an upset, but the Dolphins must avoid turnovers and negative plays in what oddsmakers expect to be a close, lower-scoring matchup.

Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings

Kickoff: Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET, CBS
Consensus line: Vikings -1.5
Total: 46.5

The NFC North produces one of Week 1’s most compelling games, with Minnesota receiving a narrow edge at home.

Green Bay defensive tackle Warren Brinson is out. Offensive linemen Aaron Banks and Zach Bako-Bewele are questionable with knee injuries, while linebacker Ty’Ron Hopper is questionable with an Achilles issue. Minnesota reported no game-status designations on its active roster.

The health of Green Bay’s offensive line may be the deciding factor. If the Packers protect Jordan Love, they should have opportunities against Minnesota’s pressure packages. If the Vikings consistently collapse the pocket, they could force Green Bay into rushed throws and turnovers.

Washington Commanders at Philadelphia Eagles

Kickoff: Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET, FOX
Consensus line: Eagles -5.5
Total: 44.5

Philadelphia opens as a solid home favorite in an early NFC East measuring-stick game.

The Eagles have ruled out edge rusher Jonathan Greenard with a pectoral injury. Tight end Eli Stowers is questionable with a hamstring problem. Washington carries no game-status designations on its active roster, although left tackle Laremy Tunsil and cornerback Trey Amos remain on injured reserve, while Dorance Armstrong is suspended.

Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels gives the Commanders the mobility to challenge Philadelphia’s pass rush. The Eagles, however, own the deeper roster and should lean heavily on Saquon Barkley to control tempo and keep Daniels off the field.

Dallas Cowboys at New York Giants

Kickoff: Sunday, 8:20 p.m. ET, NBC and Peacock
Consensus line: Cowboys -2.5

Sunday Night Football features a divisional rivalry with an important injury question hanging over the home team.

Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers is questionable as he works his way back from last season’s ACL injury. Nabers practiced fully during the week, but his availability may ultimately be decided close to kickoff. Dallas running back Malik Davis has been ruled out with a hip injury.

A healthy Nabers would change how Dallas defends the Giants, creating more space for the running game and secondary receivers. Without him, New York could have trouble producing enough explosive plays to match Dak Prescott and the Cowboys.

Dallas being favored by fewer than three points indicates that the market expects another tight NFC East game.

Monday Night Football: Denver Broncos at Kansas City Chiefs

Kickoff: Monday, 8:15 p.m. ET, ABC and ESPN
Consensus line: Chiefs -2.5
Total: 43.5

The opening week concludes at Arrowhead Stadium with Patrick Mahomes returning to face an AFC West rival carrying serious postseason expectations.

Mahomes was a full participant in practice and is expected to play following his knee injury. Wide receivers Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy also practiced fully. Kansas City defensive tackle Chris Jones was limited, while offensive tackle Josh Simmons and safety Chamarri Conner did not participate in the latest practice listed by the league. Final Monday game designations had not been posted at publication time.

Denver reported no injury designation for Marvin Mims Jr., who participated fully.

The Chiefs’ ability to protect Mahomes against Denver’s pass rush will be the central matchup. Kansas City may use quicker throws while its quarterback regains full game rhythm. Denver needs Bo Nix to remain composed in one of the league’s most difficult road environments.

Kansas City is favored by 2.5 points, with a total of 43.5. Those numbers anticipate a competitive, defense-influenced divisional game rather than an automatic Chiefs victory.

Week 1 Betting Outlook

The betting market expects several close games. Buffalo-Houston, Green Bay-Minnesota, New York-Tennessee and Denver-Kansas City all carry spreads of 2.5 points or fewer.

Jacksonville and the Los Angeles Chargers are the largest favorites, while Tampa Bay-Cincinnati carries the highest listed total. Jets-Titans owns the lowest total.
