NFL Results October 4, 2026: Cowboys Rally, Patriots Upset Bills

North American Talk Radio | October 5, 2026

Dallas delivered a last-minute comeback, New England knocked Buffalo from the unbeaten ranks, and Carolina closed Sunday with a prime-time victory over Detroit. The NFL results for October 4, 2026, featured 14 games, from Indianapolis’ win in London to the Panthers’ Sunday night breakthrough.

Kansas City, Minnesota and San Francisco each improved to 4-0. Meanwhile, Houston, Tennessee, Tampa Bay, Miami and the Los Angeles Chargers remained winless after another difficult Sunday.

Dallas Cowboys 34, Houston Texans 30

Dallas erased a 10-point halftime deficit and won on Dak Prescott’s touchdown pass to CeeDee Lamb with 40 seconds remaining. Lamb finished with a career-high 17 receptions for 189 yards, giving the Cowboys a dependable target throughout their comeback.

Javonte Williams added three second-half rushing touchdowns. Houston briefly reclaimed the lead late in the fourth quarter, but Prescott answered with an 11-play, 74-yard touchdown drive. Dallas improved to 2-2, while the Texans fell to 0-4 despite a productive afternoon from C.J. Stroud and the return of Nico Collins.

New England Patriots 29, Buffalo Bills 26

Efton Chism III’s one-handed touchdown catch helped New England hand Buffalo its first loss. Drake Maye found Chism for a 23-yard score with 1:50 remaining, and a successful two-point conversion gave the Patriots their three-point advantage.

Buffalo still had a chance to answer. However, Craig Woodson intercepted Josh Allen to end the threat. The Patriots improved to 2-2, while Buffalo slipped to 3-1. For New England, the road victory supplied a timely response to its uneven opening weeks and renewed its footing in the AFC East.

Bryce Young and Tetairoa McMillan powered Carolina’s Sunday night victory. Young threw for 329 yards and two touchdowns, both to McMillan, who caught 14 passes for 192 yards.

Chuba Hubbard complemented the passing attack with 122 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Detroit received 412 passing yards from Jared Goff, but too many possessions ended with field goals rather than touchdowns. Carolina’s balanced offense made the difference as both clubs finished the night at 2-2. The Panthers also overcame an injury-filled week to deliver one of Sunday’s strongest offensive performances.

The Chiefs scored twice in a 19-second fourth-quarter stretch, forcing Las Vegas into comeback mode. Kirk Cousins brought the Raiders within three points, but his final interception ended their hopes. Kansas City improved to 4-0, while Las Vegas fell to 3-1. Injuries to Thornton and Rashee Rice added concern to an otherwise important division victory.

Denver closed within 17-14 late in the fourth quarter. However, Kittle turned a short pass into a 56-yard touchdown to restore the 49ers’ cushion. San Francisco moved to 4-0, and Denver dropped to 2-2. The decisive finish rewarded a defense that kept the Broncos from establishing consistent offensive momentum.

Minnesota Vikings 15, Miami Dolphins 10

Minnesota stayed unbeaten without scoring a touchdown. Will Reichard supplied all 15 points with five field goals, while the Vikings’ defense kept Miami’s offense under pressure.

T.J. Hockenson caught 13 passes for 119 yards and made a crucial late decision to go down short of the goal line. With Miami out of timeouts, Minnesota could run out the clock. The Vikings improved to 4-0, while the Dolphins fell to 0-4. Miami kept the score close, but its limited passing production left little room for a successful comeback.

Los Angeles Rams 24, Philadelphia Eagles 20

Kyren Williams scored two fourth-quarter rushing touchdowns as Los Angeles rallied past Philadelphia. His late seven-yard touchdown run completed the comeback, and Byron Young helped secure the victory with two sacks on the Eagles’ final possession.

Williams produced 147 yards from scrimmage, including 67 receiving yards. Philadelphia struggled to sustain drives after Saquon Barkley left with a hamstring injury, failing to convert any of its 12 third-down attempts. Both teams ended Sunday at 2-2, with the Rams rescuing a game that appeared to be slipping away.

Baltimore Ravens 24, Tennessee Titans 18

Baltimore built a 24-7 halftime lead, then held off Tennessee after Lamar Jackson left with an ankle injury. Jackson threw for 222 yards and two touchdowns before Tyler Huntley took over.

The Ravens failed to score after halftime, allowing the Titans to narrow the deficit. A late Tennessee touchdown made it a six-point game, but Malaki Starks recovered the ensuing onside kick. Baltimore improved to 3-1, while Tennessee dropped to 0-4. Jackson’s health became the central postgame concern; the game’s immediate aftermath did not establish a definitive recovery timetable.

Trevor Lawrence threw for 227 yards and a touchdown as Jacksonville improved to 3-1. Cincinnati fell to 2-2 despite Joe Burrow’s 428 passing yards. The Bengals also played the second half without Ja’Marr Chase because of concussion symptoms. Seattle led 27-6 early in the third quarter, but the Chargers fought back to make the finish uncomfortable. Four Los Angeles turnovers proved costly in a game also marked by frequent penalties. The Seahawks improved to 3-1, while the Chargers remained winless at 0-4.

Chicago Bears 23, New York Jets 12

Kyle Monangai carried Chicago’s offense with 146 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 30 attempts. The Bears paired that ground production with a defense that repeatedly prevented New York from building sustained drives.

The Jets managed a long touchdown pass from Geno Smith to Isaiah Williams, but their offense otherwise struggled to keep pace. Chicago improved to 3-1, while New York fell to 1-3 with its third consecutive loss. The Bears’ ability to control the running game gave them a clear advantage throughout the afternoon.

New York Giants 36, Arizona Cardinals 24

Deonte Banks supplied the final play of a dramatic Giants victory, returning an interception 98 yards for a touchdown as time expired. Arizona had driven deep into New York territory with a chance to win before Banks ended the threat.

Jameis Winston threw for 250 yards and three touchdowns, helping the Giants overcome an early 14-3 deficit. Malik Nabers contributed six catches for 112 yards. New York improved to 3-1, while Arizona dropped to 1-3. The final margin obscured how close the Cardinals came to stealing the game.

Green Bay Packers 17, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 14

Green Bay survived a tense fourth quarter to keep Tampa Bay winless. Jordan Love threw two touchdown passes, and the Packers’ defense supplied the late stops needed to protect a three-point lead.

Rookie quarterback Jalon Daniels started for the Buccaneers in place of the injured Baker Mayfield. Tampa Bay reduced the deficit early in the fourth quarter but could not finish the comeback. Green Bay improved to 2-2, while the Buccaneers fell to 0-4. Despite offensive mistakes that prevented the Packers from putting the game away, their defense held firm.

Indianapolis opened Sunday’s schedule with a London victory behind Jonathan Taylor’s 95 rushing yards and two touchdowns. The Colts overcame an uneven start before pulling away from an undermanned Washington team.

Marcus Mariota left with a knee injury, forcing rookie Athan Kaliakmanis into action. Washington’s penalties also helped Indianapolis extend possessions and build its lead. The Colts improved to 2-2, while the Commanders fell to 1-3. For Indianapolis, the win marked another successful international appearance and brought the team back to an even record.
