Jackson Chourio lined a two-run, walk-off single in the ninth inning as Milwaukee rallied past San Diego and took a commanding 2-0 lead in the National League Division Series.
The Padres struck first on Ty France’s RBI single in the opening inning. Then, Dustin Harris extended the advantage with a run-scoring forceout in the fifth. Milwaukee answered when Christian Yelich doubled for the Brewers’ first hit and Sal Frelick brought him home.
France added another RBI single in the seventh, giving San Diego a 3-1 cushion. However, Garrett Mitchell scored on a throwing error in the bottom half, keeping Milwaukee within one run.
Finally, Yelich stole second during the ninth-inning rally before Chourio drove home two runs against Mason Miller.
