NFL Week 6 Preview: Injuries, Key Stats and Betting Lines for Every Sunday and Monday Game

By North American Talk Radio Sports
October 17, 2026 | Previewing games October 18–19. All kickoff times Eastern.

The NFL’s sixth weekend arrives with contenders trying to separate themselves, struggling teams searching for answers and several injury reports capable of changing the complexion of a game before kickoff.

Sunday’s schedule begins in London with Houston facing Jacksonville, continues through a crowded afternoon featuring six divisional matchups across the Sunday–Monday slate, and culminates with Dallas visiting Green Bay. Monday night brings Washington’s attempt to hand San Francisco its first loss.

Quarterback availability is central to the weekend. Baltimore will again turn to Tyler Huntley, Philadelphia will start Tanner McKee, and Chicago is monitoring Caleb Williams’ potential return. Those changes make protection, rushing efficiency and turnovers particularly important.

Betting information: MyBookie and BetUS spreads and totals below were checked October 17. Lines can move before kickoff. “Total” refers to the combined over/under; “pick’em” means neither team is giving points. The sportsbook figures are listed separately because their numbers differ.

Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars

Sunday, 9:30 a.m. | Wembley Stadium, London | NFL Network

Houston’s 1–4 record conceals a quarterback playing considerably better than the standings suggest. C.J. Stroud enters Sunday with 1,402 passing yards, six touchdowns and no interceptions, completing 64.3% of his attempts. His ability to protect the football gives the Texans a foundation for recovery, particularly if their receiving additions translate into more explosive plays. houstontexans.com

Marvin Harrison Jr.’s arrival adds another dimension. His familiarity with Stroud from Ohio State should help communication, although integrating a receiver immediately still requires coordination on routes, protection adjustments and timing. Houston does not need to force the ball to Harrison to benefit from his presence; moving defensive attention away from other targets can be valuable.

The more compelling matchup may come when Jacksonville has possession. Will Anderson Jr. recorded three sacks in Houston’s victory over Tennessee, and the Texans’ defensive front becomes particularly dangerous when opponents fall behind and must throw. Jacksonville must avoid letting a manageable game turn into a succession of obvious passing situations. houstontexans.com

Injury report: Houston has ruled out running back David Montgomery, receiver Tank Dell and safety Jalen Pitre. Linebacker Henry To’oTo’o and defensive back Ja’Marcus Ingram are questionable. Jacksonville will be without cornerback Montaric Brown and long snapper Ross Matiscik; cornerback Jaylon Jones is questionable. Those secondary absences could matter if Houston’s protection holds long enough for intermediate routes to develop. Week 6

For the Jaguars, patience is essential. Quick completions, productive early downs and avoiding negative plays can prevent Houston’s pass rush from controlling the morning. For the Texans, an early lead would allow their strongest defensive unit to attack.

Chicago Bears at Atlanta Falcons

Sunday, 1 p.m. | Mercedes-Benz Stadium | FOX

This matchup places the league’s two most productive rushing attacks against defenses that have generally handled the run well. Chicago averages 173.2 rushing yards per game, with Atlanta at 166.8. The Falcons allow 80.2 rushing yards per game, while the Bears surrender 96.0. Something has to give at the line of scrimmage. 2026 Week 6

The quarterback decision remains pivotal. Caleb Williams is questionable with a hamstring injury after missing three games, although he practiced fully throughout the week. His return would expand Chicago’s options, especially on movement passes and plays that punish defenders for overcommitting to the run.

Chicago also needs better ball security after committing five turnovers and producing only 246 yards in its loss at Green Bay. A return to efficient early-down football would help the Bears avoid exposing their quarterback to long-yardage pressure.

Atlanta’s offense revolves around Bijan Robinson, whose 580 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 102 carries illustrate both workload and explosiveness. Drake London supplies the downfield threat with 27 receptions for 488 yards. The Bears cannot devote every resource to Robinson without creating opportunities behind their linebackers. 2026 Week 6

Injury report: Chicago is missing running back Kyle Monangai, defensive lineman Dayo Odeyingbo and linebacker T.J. Edwards. Cornerbacks Kyler Gordon and Tyrique Stevenson are questionable alongside Williams. Atlanta has ruled out cornerback C.J. Henderson, while pass rusher Za’Darius Smith is questionable. nfl.com

The tactical question is whether Chicago can make Atlanta throw on predictable downs without surrendering explosive runs. Conversely, the Falcons must maintain gap discipline if Williams plays; an aggressive pursuit angle can become a quarterback escape lane.

MyBookie: Chicago −1; total 52.
BetUS: Pick’em; total 52.5. NFL Odds, Lines and Insights

Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns

Sunday, 1 p.m. | Huntington Bank Field | FOX

Baltimore enters at 4–1 with momentum, but its first AFC North matchup comes with another week of quarterback uncertainty resolved in favor of the backup. Lamar Jackson is out with an ankle injury, leaving Tyler Huntley to build on the comeback victory he engineered at Atlanta.

Huntley has won his last three starts dating to last season. Baltimore’s challenge is to give him a game that does not require repeated late heroics. Sustained rushing production and manageable third downs would reduce the burden on a reshuffled offensive line.

Derrick Henry’s involvement remains a useful indicator. In four of Baltimore’s first five games, he carried at least 23 times; the exception was the Ravens’ only defeat. That does not prove carries cause victories, but it shows the type of game Baltimore wants to create. Game Preview

Cleveland’s protection problems offer Baltimore an obvious opening. Deshaun Watson has taken a league-high 19 sacks, including eight against the Jets last week. Trey Hendrickson’s return gives the Ravens another way to exploit that vulnerability without constantly sending extra rushers.

Injury report: Baltimore is also without center Cam Jurgens, defensive tackle Broderick Washington and tight end Matt Hibner. Guards Andrew Vorhees and Emery Jones Jr. are questionable. Cleveland lists running back Quinshon Judkins, defensive tackle Mason Graham and linebacker Carson Schwesinger as questionable, while guard Teven Jenkins, running back Dylan Sampson and defensive tackles Mike Hall and Kalia Davis are out. Who’s Playing, Who’s Not vs. Browns

Those Cleveland defensive injuries could influence Henry’s effectiveness. The Browns need penetration and disciplined tackling before he reaches the second level. Offensively, they must treat avoiding sacks as part of their running game: a modest completion is preferable to another drive-killing loss.

MyBookie: Baltimore −3; total 40.
BetUS: Baltimore −3.5; total 39.5. NFL Odds, Lines and Insights

Tennessee Titans at Indianapolis Colts

Sunday, 1 p.m. | Lucas Oil Stadium | FOX

Indianapolis has a familiar opponent and an urgent objective: restore Jonathan Taylor’s ability to turn ordinary rushing attempts into substantial gains.

Taylor has gone 12 consecutive games without reaching 100 rushing yards and is averaging 3.9 yards per carry, below his career average of 4.8. Yet his recent history against Tennessee is exceptional. His last three meetings produced 218, 102 and 153 rushing yards, with nine total touchdowns.

The Colts have won six straight against the Titans, averaging 160.7 rushing yards during that stretch. Their current problem begins earlier in the play: Taylor has been contacted at or behind the line on 47.5% of his carries. Better blocking and effective responses to crowded defensive fronts are necessary before Indianapolis can expect sustained improvement. colts.com

Tennessee, meanwhile, needs more consistent passing production to prevent defenses from dictating the game. Cam Ward has completed 98 of 155 passes for 896 yards, with three touchdowns and three interceptions through five games. The Titans must generate enough efficient completions to keep their offense from repeatedly operating behind schedule.

Injury report: Tennessee has ruled out defensive lineman Jordan Elliott and safety Kevin Winston Jr. Running back Tyjae Spears is questionable with a knee injury. Indianapolis will be without linebacker Jaylon Carlies and receiver Ashton Dulin, with tight end Tyler Warren questionable. Titans at Colts

Warren’s availability deserves attention because the Colts need ways to challenge the middle of a defense that is focused on Taylor. Tennessee’s path is to make Indianapolis earn its yards patiently, then avoid giving away possessions through turnovers or failed protection.

BetUS: Indianapolis −7; total 45. NFL Odds, Lines and Insights

New York Jets at New England Patriots

Sunday, 1 p.m. | Gillette Stadium | CBS

The records suggest a modest separation between these AFC East rivals. The offensive numbers reveal a larger one.

New England averages 372.4 yards per game, compared with 284.0 for the Jets. The Patriots also hold advantages in rushing production, 127.2 to 94.0, and scoring, 22.0 points to 18.6.

Defensively, however, New York has been competitive. The Jets allow 293.0 yards per game, slightly better than New England’s 296.2, and their pass defense permits just 175.0 yards per game. This is a difficult opponent against which to build an offense around low-percentage downfield throws.

Turnovers could erase New England’s statistical edge. The Patriots carry a minus-five turnover differential, while the Jets are plus-three. New York has also produced 17 sacks, giving it a way to create the short fields its offense needs. patriots.com

Injury report: The Jets are without Breece Hall, Adonai Mitchell, Dylan Parham and Joseph Ossai. New England has ruled out cornerbacks Carlton Davis III and Karon Prunty. A.J. Brown, TreVeyon Henderson and offensive tackles Will Campbell and Marcus Bryant are questionable. Drake Maye has no game designation after practicing fully. patriots.com

Hall’s absence makes New York’s early-down efficiency even more important. New England can pressure the Jets to sustain long drives, but the Patriots must avoid helping their opponent through risky throws and protection mistakes.

For Maye, patience should be productive. Taking available completions and keeping the running game involved can prevent New York’s pass rush from becoming the defining force.

MyBookie: New England −7; total 43.5.
BetUS: New England −7; total 43.5. NFL Odds, Lines and Insights

New Orleans Saints at New York Giants

Sunday, 1 p.m. | MetLife Stadium | FOX

New York’s 3–1–1 start meets a New Orleans team trying to recover from a performance that exposed its vulnerability against pressure.

Saints quarterback Tyler Shough managed 96 passing yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions against Minnesota last week. His season splits explain why New York may attack aggressively: against blitzes, Shough has averaged 5.4 yards per attempt, with a 6.8% explosive-pass rate. Against four or fewer rushers, his explosive-pass rate rises to 17.1%.

The Giants have leaned into pressure since losing Brian Burns. Across the two full games since his injury, they have blitzed on 57.9% of opposing dropbacks.

New York also has a concentrated passing attack capable of controlling the game. Malik Nabers caught 11 passes for 121 yards and a touchdown against Washington, while Isaiah Likely added 11 catches, 94 yards and two touchdowns. giants.com

Injury report: The Giants have ruled out Theo Johnson, Colton Hood and Tyler Nubin. Tackles Andrew Thomas and Jermaine Eluemunor, along with edge rusher Abdul Carter, are questionable. New Orleans is missing linebackers Kaden Elliss and Anfernee Jennings; Alvin Kamara and Chris Olave are questionable. giants.com

The Giants’ approach carries a tradeoff. Extra rushers can disrupt Shough, but missing defensive backs increase the cost of a failed pressure. New Orleans needs quick answers: protection recognition, immediate outlets and enough rushing success to make blitzing less comfortable.

On the other side, New York must keep its own protection intact. Even an efficient passing combination can be neutralized when the quarterback cannot reach the top of his drop.

MyBookie: New Orleans −1; total 46.
BetUS: Pick’em; total 46. NFL Odds, Lines and Insights

Carolina Panthers at Philadelphia Eagles

Sunday, 1 p.m. | Lincoln Financial Field | CBS

Philadelphia’s task is to keep its season from slipping further while operating without several foundational offensive players.

Tanner McKee will start with Jalen Hurts sidelined by a calf injury. Saquon Barkley and Will Shipley are also out, leaving the Eagles to reconstruct both their quarterback plan and backfield rotation. There is help at receiver: DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks are available after practicing fully Friday.

Additional injury concerns: Landon Dickerson and Drew Kendall are questionable, as are tight ends Grant Calcaterra and Eli Stowers. Carolina has ruled out AJ Dillon and lists tackle Monroe Freeling as doubtful. Taylor Moton, Damien Lewis, Jaelan Phillips and Tershawn Wharton are among the Panthers’ questionable players. philadelphiaeagles.com

That makes the trenches particularly important. Philadelphia needs enough rushing efficiency to keep McKee from facing a steady diet of obvious passing downs. Carolina needs protection that allows Bryce Young to test the Eagles’ coverage rather than spending the afternoon escaping pressure.

Tetairoa McMillan gives the Panthers a receiver capable of changing the game. In Carolina’s win over Detroit, he produced 14 receptions for 192 yards and two touchdowns. Philadelphia must decide how much help to devote to him without making the rest of the field too accessible. philadelphiaeagles.com

Carolina enters after a bye, while Philadelphia returns from its loss in London. The Eagles’ best route is a controlled game built around possession, field position and manageable throws. The Panthers would prefer to force Philadelphia into a chase, where its missing offensive personnel become harder to conceal.

MyBookie: Carolina −3; total 39.
BetUS: Carolina −3; total 39. NFL Odds, Lines and Insights

Pittsburgh Steelers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Sunday, 1 p.m. | Raymond James Stadium | CBS

The quarterback experience gap is striking: Aaron Rodgers has 262 career starts, while Tampa Bay’s Jalon Daniels has two.

Daniels is expected to make his third consecutive start in place of Baker Mayfield, who is dealing with a right-thumb injury. The undrafted rookie helped Tampa Bay beat Dallas last week by throwing for 189 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions.

Pittsburgh’s most versatile weapon may be Jaylen Warren. He leads the team with 410 rushing yards and also leads in receiving yardage. Against Indianapolis, he scored on an 80-yard reception and a 50-yard run, illustrating why Tampa Bay must account for him beyond conventional handoffs. buccaneers.com

The Buccaneers have a credible response in their run defense. Tampa Bay is allowing only 3.3 yards per carry, and its offense rushed for 241 yards against Dallas. That combination offers a way to reduce possessions, protect Daniels and keep Rodgers from controlling the rhythm. buccaneers.com

Injury report: Pittsburgh added tight end Pat Freiermuth to the report Saturday with a calf injury; he is questionable. DK Metcalf has been cleared after an illness. Receivers Roman Wilson and Ben Skowronek are out. steelers.com

The central confrontation is Tampa Bay’s protection against Pittsburgh’s defensive front. Daniels does not need a spectacular passing afternoon if the Buccaneers can run effectively and avoid giveaways. Pittsburgh, meanwhile, needs to keep Warren involved through screens and underneath routes if traditional rushing lanes close.

A low total reflects the possibility that both teams prioritize protecting possession and limiting their exposure to the opposing defense.

MyBookie: Pittsburgh −2.5; total 39.
BetUS: Pittsburgh −2; total 39. NFL Odds, Lines and Insights

Arizona Cardinals at Los Angeles Rams

Sunday, 4:05 p.m. | SoFi Stadium | FOX

Los Angeles has an opportunity to turn impressive passing production into a more complete performance.

Matthew Stafford has thrown for at least 300 yards in four consecutive games, his longest such streak within a season. Arizona’s pressure numbers suggest he could again have opportunities: the Cardinals have pressured quarterbacks on 30.3% of dropbacks, with a particularly poor 21.7% pressure rate on third down.

There is an important complication. Rams tackle Alaric Jackson is suspended, leaving David Quessenberry to start. Arizona must exploit that change without compromising coverage through excessive blitzing. Week 6 at SoFi Stadium

The Cardinals need more support for their passing game. Jacoby Brissett threw for 292 yards and three touchdowns in the loss to Detroit, but rookie running back Jeremiyah Love managed only 22 yards on 12 carries. Love’s season totals stand at 245 yards on 67 carries, and Arizona cannot afford repeated unsuccessful runs that create long-yardage situations. therams.com

Injury report: Love has been ruled out with an ankle injury. Arizona is also without safeties Wydett Williams and Andrew Wingard. Rams cornerback Trent McDuffie and safety Kam Curl are questionable, although Sean McVay expressed optimism about Curl. therams.com

Those Rams secondary concerns give Arizona a possible route to competitiveness. Quick throws to its reliable targets can serve as an extension of the running game while keeping the pass rush from taking over.

Los Angeles must also finish drives. A large yardage advantage is less meaningful if penalties, protection breakdowns or special-teams mistakes repeatedly turn touchdown opportunities into empty possessions.

MyBookie: Los Angeles Rams −13; total 51.5.
BetUS: Los Angeles Rams −13; total 51.5. NFL Odds, Lines and Insights

Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs

Sunday, 4:25 p.m. | Arrowhead Stadium | CBS

The standings are stark—Kansas City is 4–0 and Los Angeles 0–5—but the most revealing differences involve turnovers and fourth-quarter execution.

The Chargers have committed 13 giveaways, including seven interceptions and six lost fumbles. Kansas City has turned it over only twice and owns a plus-five turnover differential.

Justin Herbert has been sacked 17 times and pressured on 82 dropbacks. His 59.4% completion rate, 6.6 yards per attempt and 70.2 passer rating reflect an offense struggling to maintain favorable conditions.

Kansas City has found an effective counterweight to its passing game in Kenneth Walker, who rushed for 537 yards through four games. The Chiefs average 6.54 yards per play, giving them multiple ways to punish a defense.

Late-game performance further separates the teams. Kansas City has a plus-19 fourth-quarter scoring margin; Los Angeles is minus-33. Chargers vs. Chiefs

Injury report: The Chiefs are without Rashee Rice and tackle Josh Simmons, while L’Jarius Sneed is questionable. Ladd McConkey practiced fully Friday and has no game designation, providing Herbert with an important receiving option. chargers.com

Los Angeles’ opportunity begins with making the game less chaotic. Avoiding giveaways, using quick completions and sustaining enough rushing production to slow Kansas City’s pressure could keep the Chargers within reach.

For the Chiefs, balance matters. Walker’s production allows them to avoid becoming a predictable dropback offense, especially with a starting tackle unavailable. Kansas City can force Los Angeles to prove it can execute consistently across all four quarters.

MyBookie: Kansas City −7.5; total 41.
BetUS: Kansas City −8; total 41. NFL Odds, Lines and Insights

Buffalo Bills at Las Vegas Raiders

Sunday, 4:25 p.m. | Allegiant Stadium | CBS

This game offers one of the weekend’s clearest contrasts between offensive firepower and defensive vulnerability.

Buffalo averages 396.2 yards and 32.8 points per game. Las Vegas produces 335.6 yards and 26.4 points. Both defenses have allowed substantial production: the Bills surrender 388.6 yards per game, while the Raiders permit 377.0.

The passing matchup gives Las Vegas a reason for optimism. Its offense averages 253.6 passing yards, while Buffalo allows 280.4, placing considerable pressure on the Bills’ coverage.

Turnovers could determine whether this becomes a shootout or a comfortable Buffalo afternoon. The Bills have committed nine giveaways over their last three games, while Las Vegas has generated 10 takeaways this season. Maxx Crosby has produced 36 pressures, including 20 in the Raiders’ two home games. raiders.com

Injury report: Buffalo lists DJ Moore, Josh Palmer, Ed Oliver, T.J. Sanders and Dee Alford as questionable. Right tackle Spencer Brown is expected to play. Las Vegas is without Tonka Hemingway, Carter Runyon and Dont’e Thornton Jr.; guard Trey Zuhn III is questionable. Brock Bowers and Ashton Jeanty have no game designation. Week 6

The Raiders must pressure Josh Allen without losing control of his escape routes. A pass rush that gets too far upfield can create the very explosive plays it is designed to prevent.

Buffalo’s priority is possession security. Its offense has the production to win a high-scoring game, but repeated short fields would make an already vulnerable defense’s assignment substantially harder.

MyBookie: Buffalo −4.5; total 53.5.
BetUS: Buffalo −4.5; total 53.5. NFL Odds, Lines and Insights

Dallas Cowboys at Green Bay Packers

Sunday, 8:20 p.m. | Lambeau Field | NBC

Sunday night features two quarterbacks capable of stretching the field and two teams with reasons to worry about defensive depth.

Dak Prescott has thrown for 1,381 yards, completing 67.2% of his passes with nine touchdowns and three interceptions. Dallas averages 351.2 yards and 27.6 points per game, but its offense must recover from the disappointing loss to Tampa Bay. NFL Game on October 18, 2026

Jordan Love enters with 1,408 passing yards and 10 touchdowns. Christian Watson has six receiving touchdowns, while CeeDee Lamb has 507 receiving yards for Dallas. Those numbers frame the central concern for both defenses: preventing a productive passing game from becoming an explosive one. dknetwork.draftkings.com

Green Bay’s defensive absences are substantial. Micah Parsons is not expected to return against his former team, and the Packers have lost Edgerrin Cooper and Javon Hargrave for the season. Dallas should have opportunities to establish a balanced attack rather than asking Prescott to carry every possession. dallascowboys.com

Injury report: Green Bay has ruled out Skyy Moore, Benjamin St-Juste, Jonathan Ford and Hargrave. Aaron Banks, Jacob Monk, Anthony Campbell, Brandon Cisse and Savion Williams are questionable. Dallas is without Cobie Durant and Drew Shelton; Joey Porter Jr., DeMarvion Overshown, L.T. Overton and Ameer Speed are questionable. Week 6 Injury Report

Dallas must avoid letting Love’s play-action opportunities develop into uncontested deep throws. Green Bay needs enough interior resistance to keep Prescott from operating comfortably on second-and-short.

The teams’ finishing ability could decide the game. With a high total and almost no separation in the spread, red-zone touchdowns, protection calls and late defensive substitutions may outweigh overall yardage.

MyBookie: Green Bay −1; total 53.
BetUS: Pick’em; total 53. NFL Odds, Lines and Insights

Washington Commanders at San Francisco 49ers

Monday, 8:15 p.m. | Levi’s Stadium | ESPN/ABC

Washington’s challenge against unbeaten San Francisco begins with sustaining drives and continues with finishing the game.

The Commanders average 327.4 yards and 23 points per game, but convert only 31.88% of third downs. San Francisco converts 51.92%, giving its offense a major advantage in extending possessions.

Brock Purdy has thrown for 1,196 yards and 13 touchdowns. The 49ers average 365.0 yards and 30.8 points, while allowing 297.2 yards and 18.6 points. Washington’s defense, by comparison, permits 29.8 points per game.

The Commanders do have a productive rushing foundation at 139.6 yards per game. That gives Jayden Daniels a way to keep the offense moving without repeatedly challenging San Francisco’s coverage on obvious passing downs. A trip out west

Second-half performance is another concern. Washington ranks last in second-half points allowed, while San Francisco averages 17.8 points after halftime. An early Washington lead would therefore be only the beginning of its assignment. commanders.com

Injury watch: Jacory Croskey-Merritt has been ruled out, weakening Washington’s rushing rotation. Stefon Diggs has been managing a hamstring injury, while Daniels practiced fully Thursday and Friday despite a left-elbow listing. San Francisco has been monitoring receiver Mike Evans, who missed consecutive practices earlier in the week. Monday’s availability should be checked against the final reports and inactive lists. commanders.com

Washington needs productive first downs, disciplined protection and fewer empty possessions. Defensively, it must make San Francisco earn lengthy drives without surrendering easy yards after the catch.

For the 49ers, the formula is straightforward: stay efficient, distribute the football and make Washington maintain its execution long enough to challenge an offense that has repeatedly improved as games progress.

MyBookie: San Francisco −7.5; total 52.
BetUS: San Francisco −8; total 52.
