Gamble Guy’s Complete College Football Week 2 Preview: MyBookie and BetUS Lines

By Gamble Guy | North American Talk Radio
Betting lines captured September 9, 2026, and subject to change.

Week 2 of the 2026 college football season wastes little time delivering a heavyweight showdown.

No. 1 Ohio State visits No. 4 Texas in the weekend’s marquee game, while No. 11 Oklahoma travels to Michigan, No. 6 Oregon visits Oklahoma State and No. 3 Notre Dame plays its home opener against Rice. The schedule also includes the Border War between No. 23 Missouri and Kansas, the Cy-Hawk rivalry and several consequential Power Four intersectional games.

Ohio State remained atop the latest Associated Press poll, followed by No. 2 Georgia, No. 3 Notre Dame, No. 4 Texas, defending national champion No. 5 Indiana and No. 6 Oregon. Michigan fell out after narrowly escaping Western Michigan, while No. 8 LSU climbed into the top 10 following a 51-10 victory over Clemson. The Associated Press published the complete updated poll.

MyBookie and BetUS, sponsors of North American Talk Radio, supplied the betting numbers listed below. The projected scores come from a computer simulation weighing the current point spreads, totals, opponent quality, recent performance and home-field advantage.

Important: The simulated scores are analytical projections—not official Gamble Guy selections or betting recommendations.

No. 1 Ohio State at No. 4 Texas

Saturday, 7:30 p.m. ET

  • MyBookie: No. 4 Texas -1.5; total 49
  • BetUS: No. 4 Texas -1.5; total 49
  • Computer projection: No. 4 Texas 25, No. 1 Ohio State 24

The weekend’s defining game places the nation’s No. 1 team in one of college football’s most hostile environments. No. 1 Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin opened the season by throwing for 320 yards and three touchdowns in a 56-3 demolition of Ball State. No. 4 Texas, meanwhile, gets the opportunity to make an early College Football Playoff statement at home.

Both sportsbooks installed No. 4 Texas as a narrow favorite, suggesting little separation between two championship-caliber rosters. The matchup may turn on whether the Longhorns can consistently protect their quarterback against Ohio State’s defensive front.

With a total of only 49, oddsmakers expect field position, red-zone execution and turnovers to carry more weight than raw yardage.

Rice at No. 3 Notre Dame

Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET

  • MyBookie: No. 3 Notre Dame -44.5; total 55
  • BetUS: No. 3 Notre Dame -44.5; total 55
  • Computer projection: No. 3 Notre Dame 49, Rice 6

No. 3 Notre Dame returns home after overpowering Wisconsin 41-13. Quarterback CJ Carr threw for 239 yards and two touchdowns in the opener, while the Fighting Irish defense controlled Wisconsin’s running game.

Rice rushed for 465 yards in its 31-3 victory over Houston Christian, but the Owls will be without important tailback Quinton Jackson. Their option-based attack can shorten a game, although Notre Dame’s experience and discipline represent a dramatic increase in difficulty.

The identical 44.5-point lines reflect Notre Dame’s overwhelming personnel advantage. The main challenge for the Irish may be maintaining assignment discipline against an unfamiliar rushing system.

Western Kentucky at No. 2 Georgia

Saturday, 12:45 p.m. ET

  • MyBookie: No. 2 Georgia -40.5; total 55.5
  • BetUS: No. 2 Georgia -40.5; total 55.5
  • Computer projection: No. 2 Georgia 48, Western Kentucky 8

No. 2 Georgia climbed one spot in the AP rankings after crushing Tennessee State 63-3. The Bulldogs now face a Western Kentucky team capable of playing with tempo and creating opportunities through the passing game.

Georgia’s depth on both lines should dictate the contest. Western Kentucky must protect the football and avoid giving the Bulldogs short fields if it hopes to remain competitive beyond the opening quarter.

The teams have met only once previously, with Georgia winning 48-12 in 2006.

No. 6 Oregon at Oklahoma State

Saturday, noon ET

  • MyBookie: No. 6 Oregon -22; total 58
  • BetUS: No. 6 Oregon -23; total 57.5
  • Computer projection: No. 6 Oregon 41, Oklahoma State 17

No. 6 Oregon slipped four places after surviving Boise State, but a difficult road trip offers the Ducks an immediate chance to reinforce their national credentials.

Oklahoma State must disrupt Oregon’s timing and manufacture explosive plays of its own. A methodical drive-for-drive contest favors the deeper visiting roster. The Cowboys need takeaways, special-teams production and a loud home crowd to keep the pressure on Oregon.

BetUS gives Oregon an additional point compared with MyBookie, but both books expect a decisive Ducks victory.

No. 11 Oklahoma at Michigan

Saturday, noon ET

  • MyBookie: No. 11 Oklahoma -5.5; total 43.5
  • BetUS: No. 11 Oklahoma -5.5; total 43.5
  • Computer projection: No. 11 Oklahoma 24, Michigan 18

Michigan’s controversial 13-12 escape against Western Michigan pushed the Wolverines out of the AP Top 25. Michigan received a second opportunity after officials restored one second to the clock, then won on a 47-yard Hail Mary from Bryce Underwood to JJ Buchanan.

No. 11 Oklahoma enters Michigan Stadium as the clear favorite in a game carrying significant postseason implications. The low total points toward a defensive contest in which quarterback pressure and turnovers could determine the outcome.

Michigan needs a far more efficient offensive performance. Another slow start could allow Oklahoma to control the game through its defense and running attack.

Arizona State at No. 10 Texas A&M

Saturday, noon ET

  • MyBookie: No. 10 Texas A&M -14.5; total 50
  • BetUS: No. 10 Texas A&M -14.5; total 50.5
  • Computer projection: No. 10 Texas A&M 32, Arizona State 17

No. 10 Texas A&M receives its first meaningful test after opening against Missouri State. Arizona State brings enough athleticism to challenge the Aggies, but Kyle Field and Texas A&M’s depth create a difficult combination.

The Aggies will try to establish their defensive front, force Arizona State into obvious passing situations and prevent the Sun Devils from producing explosive plays. Arizona State’s clearest path is to survive the opening surge and make Texas A&M execute long drives.

No. 16 Penn State at Temple

Saturday, noon ET

  • MyBookie: No. 16 Penn State -24; total 49.5
  • BetUS: No. 16 Penn State -24; total 49.5
  • Computer projection: No. 16 Penn State 37, Temple 12

No. 16 Penn State opened the Matt Campbell era with a 45-0 victory over Marshall. Transfer quarterback Rocco Becht threw for 271 yards and four touchdowns, while Koby Howard accumulated 161 receiving yards.

Temple defeated Rhode Island but used two quarterbacks and produced an uneven passing performance. The Owls forced three turnovers, an ingredient they will almost certainly need again.

Penn State allowed only 147 yards and one third-down conversion in its opener.

No. 12 Alabama at Kentucky

Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET

  • MyBookie: No. 12 Alabama -10.5; total 49
  • BetUS: No. 12 Alabama -10.5; total 49.5
  • Computer projection: No. 12 Alabama 30, Kentucky 19

An early SEC road game gives No. 12 Alabama little room for experimentation. Kentucky’s defense and home crowd should provide resistance, but the Wildcats must generate enough offense to keep Alabama from gradually taking control.

The Crimson Tide’s ability to avoid turnovers and win on early downs will be important. Kentucky cannot afford to spend the afternoon facing long fields or repeated third-and-long situations.

The modest total suggests a physical game rather than an extended shootout.

No. 18 Tennessee at Georgia Tech

Saturday, 7 p.m. ET

  • MyBookie: No. 18 Tennessee -13; total 55
  • BetUS: No. 18 Tennessee -12.5; total 55.5
  • Computer projection: No. 18 Tennessee 35, Georgia Tech 21

No. 18 Tennessee takes its explosive offense on the road for an SEC-ACC matchup with Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets must limit Tennessee’s possessions and avoid falling behind the chains.

Georgia Tech’s best opportunity may come through sustained drives that keep Tennessee’s offense on the sideline. The Volunteers, however, possess the speed to turn a small defensive mistake into an immediate touchdown.

MyBookie lists Tennessee at -13, while BetUS offers the slightly smaller -12.5 spread.

No. 23 Missouri at Kansas

Friday, 8 p.m. ET

  • MyBookie: No. 23 Missouri -5.5; total 50.5
  • BetUS: No. 23 Missouri -5.5; total 50.5
  • Computer projection: No. 23 Missouri 28, Kansas 22

The Border War returns with genuine football significance. No. 23 Missouri enters as a 5.5-point road favorite, but rivalry intensity and Kansas’ home-field advantage make this one of the weekend’s more intriguing games.

Kansas needs to prevent Missouri from controlling the line of scrimmage and dictating the pace. Missouri must avoid allowing emotion, penalties or an early turnover to energize the Jayhawks.

The betting markets are in complete agreement on both the spread and total.

Iowa State at No. 21 Iowa

Saturday, 7:30 p.m. ET

  • MyBookie: No. 21 Iowa -14; total 40.5
  • BetUS: No. 21 Iowa -14; total 40.5
  • Computer projection: No. 21 Iowa 27, Iowa State 13

The Cy-Hawk rivalry rarely needs additional drama, but No. 21 Iowa enters as a substantial two-touchdown favorite.

The total of 40.5 is among the lowest on the board, creating little margin for error. A defensive or special-teams touchdown could completely reshape the game. Iowa State must protect the ball and avoid allowing the Hawkeyes to play from favorable field position.

No. 13 Texas Tech at Oregon State

Saturday, 7:30 p.m. ET

  • MyBookie: No. 13 Texas Tech -26.5; total 53.5
  • BetUS: No. 13 Texas Tech -26.5; total 53.5
  • Computer projection: No. 13 Texas Tech 40, Oregon State 14

No. 13 Texas Tech takes its national ranking and explosive offense into Corvallis. The Red Raiders are favored by nearly four touchdowns despite playing away from home.

Oregon State must keep the game from becoming a track meet. Long possessions and red-zone stops could give the Beavers an opportunity, but repeated three-and-outs would expose them to Texas Tech’s pace and scoring potential.

Arkansas at No. 20 Utah

Saturday, 10:15 p.m. ET

  • MyBookie: No. 20 Utah -13; total 55
  • BetUS: No. 20 Utah -12.5; total 54.5
  • Computer projection: No. 20 Utah 34, Arkansas 21

Arkansas travels to altitude for a challenging SEC-Big 12 matchup. No. 20 Utah’s physical identity and home-field advantage help explain the double-digit spread.

Arkansas must match Utah’s toughness at the line of scrimmage and avoid becoming one-dimensional. The Utes will look to control the pace, wear down the Razorbacks and force Arkansas to drive the length of the field.

The half-point differences between the books make this one worth monitoring as kickoff approaches.

Mississippi State at Minnesota

Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET

  • MyBookie: Mississippi State -1.5; total 55.5
  • BetUS: Pick’em; total 55.5
  • Computer projection: Mississippi State 28, Minnesota 27

No major matchup features a more notable disagreement between these two boards. MyBookie makes Mississippi State a slight favorite, while BetUS lists the game at pick’em.

Bulldogs quarterback Kamario Taylor opened the season with 354 passing yards and four touchdowns. Minnesota’s defense must disguise coverages while preventing Taylor from escaping the pocket and extending plays.

Mississippi State defensive coordinator Zach Arnett has installed an aggressive 3-3-5 scheme designed to create pressure and confusion.

Duke at Illinois

Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET

  • MyBookie: Illinois -6; total 51.5
  • BetUS: Illinois -6; total 51.5
  • Computer projection: Illinois 29, Duke 22

This ACC-Big Ten matchup pairs two 1-0 programs. Illinois quarterback Katin Houser accounted for four touchdowns in the opener, while running back Ca’Lil Valentine gives the Illini a big-play threat.

Duke’s physical running game could attack an Illinois defense that surrendered 194 rushing yards to UAB. The Blue Devils must also establish enough of a passing threat to keep Illinois from crowding the line.

UCF at Pittsburgh

Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET

  • MyBookie: Pittsburgh -7; total 56.5
  • BetUS: Pittsburgh -7; total 57
  • Computer projection: Pittsburgh 32, UCF 24

Pittsburgh enters as a touchdown favorite in an intersectional matchup that could become one of the afternoon’s faster-paced games.

UCF needs to keep Pittsburgh’s pass rush from taking over and create explosive gains before the Panthers can dictate the contest defensively. Pittsburgh’s ability to finish drives will determine whether it pulls away or allows the Knights to remain close.

Georgia Southern at Clemson

Saturday, 7:30 p.m. ET

  • MyBookie: Clemson -20.5; total 55.5
  • BetUS: Clemson -20.5; total 56
  • Computer projection: Clemson 38, Georgia Southern 17

Clemson must respond after its 51-10 loss to No. 8 LSU. Georgia Southern presents a dangerous opponent if the Tigers allow their Week 1 disappointment to carry into Saturday.

Clemson needs sharper quarterback play, better protection and an early defensive statement. Georgia Southern will attempt to create tempo, attack the perimeter and force the Tigers to play in space.

Arizona at No. 15 BYU

Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET

  • MyBookie: No. 15 BYU -7.5; total 48
  • BetUS: No. 15 BYU -7.5; total 48
  • Computer projection: No. 15 BYU 28, Arizona 20

No. 15 BYU owns a strong home-field advantage and enters as a consistent 7.5-point favorite. Arizona must withstand the Cougars’ early energy and keep the contest within one possession.

With both books posting a total of only 48, the matchup projects as a physical Big 12 game in which third-down conversions and red-zone touchdowns could separate the teams.

Washington State at Kansas State

Saturday, noon ET

  • MyBookie: Kansas State -18; total 49
  • BetUS: Kansas State -17.5; total 49
  • Computer projection: Kansas State 34, Washington State 15

Kansas State fell out of the AP rankings but remains a substantial favorite over Washington State. The Wildcats need a clean, authoritative performance to restore confidence.

Washington State’s path requires creating passing-game explosives and forcing Kansas State to chase points. The Cougars cannot allow the Wildcats to control possession and repeatedly win on early downs.

Memphis at Boise State

Saturday, 6 p.m. ET

  • MyBookie: Boise State -9; total 55
  • BetUS: Boise State -8.5; total 55
  • Computer projection: Boise State 32, Memphis 23

Boise State dropped just outside the Top 25 after pushing No. 6 Oregon before losing. The Broncos return home for another significant test against Memphis.

Both programs have postseason ambitions, making this one of the most important Group of Six games of the week. Memphis must prevent Boise State from controlling the line of scrimmage, while the Broncos need to avoid an emotional letdown following their near-upset.

Utah State at No. 19 Washington

Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET

  • MyBookie: No. 19 Washington -27; total 55.5
  • BetUS: No. 19 Washington -26.5; total 55.5
  • Computer projection: No. 19 Washington 41, Utah State 14

No. 19 Washington enters as a heavy home favorite against Utah State. The Huskies should possess decisive advantages in depth and overall athleticism.

Utah State needs to limit explosive plays and avoid allowing Washington to establish complete control during the opening quarter.

Louisiana Tech at No. 8 LSU

Saturday, 7:30 p.m. ET

  • MyBookie: No. 8 LSU -35; total 55.5
  • BetUS: No. 8 LSU -35; total 55.5
  • Computer projection: No. 8 LSU 45, Louisiana Tech 10

No. 8 LSU returns home after dismantling Clemson 51-10. The Tigers’ greatest opponent may be complacency following such an emotional and convincing victory.

Louisiana Tech must protect the football and avoid allowing LSU’s offense to begin possessions on short fields. LSU should be able to control both lines of scrimmage and gradually pull away.

Charlotte at No. 9 Ole Miss

Saturday, 7:45 p.m. ET

  • MyBookie: No. 9 Ole Miss -47.5; total 60.5
  • BetUS: No. 9 Ole Miss -47.5; total 61
  • Computer projection: No. 9 Ole Miss 54, Charlotte 7

No. 9 Ole Miss returns from its 41-38 victory over No. 24 Louisville as one of the largest favorites on the board.

Charlotte faces the difficult task of slowing an explosive offense while also finding enough production to avoid giving Ole Miss repeated short fields. The Rebels should be able to use the matchup to develop depth throughout the roster.

Louisiana at No. 14 USC

Saturday, 11 p.m. ET

  • MyBookie: No. 14 USC -31; total 60
  • BetUS: No. 14 USC -31; total 60
  • Computer projection: No. 14 USC 46, Louisiana 15

No. 14 USC should generate points against Louisiana, but the Ragin’ Cajuns possess enough experience to punish a careless performance.

The Trojans will look to establish an early lead and prevent Louisiana from controlling the pace. USC can also use the game to strengthen its rotation before the Big Ten schedule becomes more demanding.

Additional Power Four and Featured FBS Games

Old Dominion at Virginia Tech

  • MyBookie: Virginia Tech -19; total 50
  • BetUS: Virginia Tech -19; total 50

  • BetUS: UCLA -11.5; total 55
  • Computer projection: UCLA 34, San Diego State 21

UCLA quarterback Nico Iamaleava and the Bruins’ offense face an Aztecs team coming off a 53-20 victory. San Diego State’s special teams and running game offer upset potential, but UCLA owns the superior depth.

  • MyBookie: Syracuse -3.5; total 57
  • BetUS: Syracuse -3.5; total 57

  • MyBookie: Maryland -13; total 52
  • BetUS: Maryland -13.5; total 52.5

Eastern Michigan at Michigan State

  • MyBookie: Michigan State -17.5; total 49.5
  • BetUS: Michigan State -17.5; total 49.5
  • Computer projection: Michigan State 34, Eastern Michigan 16

Week 2 Outlook

No. 1 Ohio State–No. 4 Texas carries the greatest national consequences, but the depth of the schedule makes Week 2 more than a one-game weekend.

Oklahoma–Michigan could reshape perceptions of both programs. Oregon must prove itself on the road. No. 3 Notre Dame and No. 2 Georgia are expected to dominate, while No. 23 Missouri–Kansas, Iowa State–No. 21 Iowa and Arkansas–No. 20 Utah renew regional and stylistic rivalries.

The sportsbook lines establish expectations. The computer simulations provide neutral estimates. Neither represents an official Gamble Guy play.
