Editorial Standards
North American Talk Radio is committed to accuracy, transparency, fairness and clear attribution. These standards apply to articles published on natalkradio.us and guide our original news and commentary.
Accuracy and verification
Writers should verify names, dates, quotations, statistics and other material facts before publication. Reports should rely on credible sources such as official records, direct statements, reputable news organizations, established data providers and firsthand reporting when available.
When facts cannot be independently confirmed, the article should identify the source of the claim and explain any important uncertainty. Developing stories may change as new information becomes available, and articles may be updated accordingly.
Attribution and links
Information obtained from another organization, document or individual should be attributed clearly. Whenever practical, articles should link to original documents, official announcements or the reporting on which a statement is based. Direct quotations must accurately reflect the speaker’s words and context.
North American Talk Radio does not present another publisher’s original reporting as its own. Summaries should add context, analysis or organization while directing readers to relevant sources.
Fairness and responses
Coverage should distinguish verified facts from allegations, predictions and opinion. People and organizations facing substantial criticism should be given appropriate context and, when practical for original reporting, a meaningful opportunity to respond. A lack of response should not be described as proof of wrongdoing.
Headlines and images
Headlines, captions, thumbnails and social-media descriptions should accurately represent the underlying article. They may be engaging, but they should not materially exaggerate facts or promise information the article does not provide.
Images should be owned, licensed, used with permission, available under an appropriate Creative Commons license, in the public domain or otherwise legally usable. Credits and license information should be displayed when required.
News, analysis and opinion
North American Talk Radio separates content into the following types:
- NEWS: Fact-based reporting or summaries written to inform readers.
- ANALYSIS: Evidence-based interpretation that goes beyond a straight report. Analysis may include the writer’s informed judgment but should remain grounded in disclosed facts.
- OPINION: Commentary expressing the views of the named writer. Opinion does not necessarily represent every contributor associated with North American Talk Radio.
- SPONSORED: Material created or published in exchange for payment or another commercial benefit.
- ADVERTISEMENT: Promotional material supplied by or displayed for an advertiser.
Every article containing substantial personal judgment should be labeled Opinion or Analysis near the headline. Paid material must be labeled Sponsored or Advertisement before readers encounter the promotional content.
Artificial intelligence and editorial responsibility
North American Talk Radio may use digital or artificial-intelligence tools to assist with research organization, transcription, editing, formatting, headline development or other production tasks. A human publisher or editor remains responsible for reviewing published material for accuracy, context, attribution and compliance with these standards. AI-generated output should not be treated as a source, and significant factual claims should be checked against reliable evidence.
Conflicts of interest
Writers should disclose financial, personal or professional relationships that could reasonably affect—or appear to affect—their coverage. Contributors should not accept payment from a subject in exchange for favorable editorial treatment. Affiliate relationships and sponsored arrangements should be clearly disclosed.
Corrections
Material errors should be corrected promptly and transparently under our Corrections Policy. Minor spelling, grammar or formatting repairs that do not alter meaning may be made without an editor’s note.
